Snip n clip at tallgrass12/9/2023 The shape of the blades allow for sharp turns without buckling the sheet metal. Hawk's-bill snips are used to cut small radii on the inside and outside of a circle. Circle pattern snips have a curved blade and are used to cut circles. Other common blade patterns include the circle pattern or curved pattern and the hawk's-bill pattern. They are a lighter duty snip that can only cut up to 25 gauge mild steel. The blade edges are also bevelled to more easily cut curves and circles or shapes. Duckbill-pattern snips, also known as trojan-pattern snips, have blades that taper down from the pivot to the tip of the blades. Straight-pattern is best for straight cuts, but can handle gentle curves. There are two main types: straight-pattern and duckbill-pattern. They can be ranged in length from 7 to 14 in (180 to 360 mm) long. Depending on the size of the blade, tin snips can cut between 24 and 16 gauge cold rolled low-carbon tin. They usually have extra wide jaws and are made of drop forged carbon steel. They are defined by their long handles and short blades. Tinner's snips, also known as tinner snips or tin snips, are one of the most popular type of snips. ![]() There are two broad categories: tinner's snips, which are similar to common scissors, and compound-action snips, which use a compound leverage handle system to increase the mechanical advantage. The style of edge employed will depend if a straight sheer or some type of shapes cut is necessary. Workers use various types of snips, with the cutting edges being straight or curved to various degrees. Snips, also known as shears, are hand tools used to cut sheet metal and other tough webs.

Chatbot psn12/9/2023 ![]() Unable to interpret natural language, they generally required users to select from simple keywords and phrases to move the conversation forward. It also hosted its first Responsible AI Challenge which encouraged builders to compete for prize money by creating trustworthy AI solutions. The earliest chatbots were essentially interactive FAQ programs, programmed to reply to a limited set of common questions with pre-written answers. The product joins other Mozilla-led AI initiatives, including a $30 million commitment to build a startup and community called Mozilla.ai focused on creating an independent open source AI ecosystem. You can then interrogate the AI agent about the product as you weigh your purchase decisions. When the analysis is complete, Fakespot Chat appears on the right-hand side of the analysis page alongside other features, like Pros and Cons, as well as Fakespot’s Review Grades and Highlights. For the former, you’d copy and paste the URL of the product into the analyzer to ask your questions, but if using the browser add-on, the analysis starts automatically. The feature is available via the Fakespot Analyzer or it can be used on an product from Fakespot’s browser extension. The information from your chat session is saved to improve the experience for others, Mozilla notes, but users don’t have to create an account or divulge personal information for the experience to work. The technology uses AI and machine learning to sort through the product reviews, sorting real from fake, to answer the user’s questions. This week, Fakespot Chat launched into testing, allowing shoppers to ask an AI chatbot about a product they’re considering, similar to how you could ask a salesperson for help if you were shopping in a physical store in the real world. The feature was trained on billions of data points, with the model itself using five different models under its hood, the company said. For instance, it launched a generative AI feature called Pros and Cons last year, that could replace the need for reading reviews by writing up its own summaries of a product’s positives and negatives. Federal Trade Commission has also proposed a rule that would attempt to ban fake product reviews, warning that AI is making the problem even worse.īut Fakespot has been using AI, including generative AI technologies, to make the online shopping process more trustworthy, not less. In July, TripAdvisor told The Guardian it had already removed over 20,000 reviews it believed contained AI-generated text from across more than 15,000 properties in its system. ![]() As CBNC reported in April, a number of Amazon product reviews were transparently created via ChatGPT as they began with the phrase “As an AI language model,” which tends to be part of ChatGPT’s responses. There’s some irony in using AI to combat the scourge of fake reviews, which are today also often crafted using AI technology, like GPT. Now, Mozilla is launching its first LLM (large language model) with the arrival of Fakespot Chat, an AI agent that will help consumers as they shop online by answering questions about the product or even suggesting questions that could be useful in your product research. Earlier this year, Mozilla acquired Fakespot, a startup that leverages AI and machine learning to identify fake and deceptive product reviews.

Reddit autodesk sketchbook vs artrage12/9/2023 ![]() Sketchbook Pro includes more tools than Procreate, another professional-level creation app, though not as many options for canvas-size and resolution. Final Verdict: One of the most useful features of SketchBook Pro software is that it includes a library of over 4000 sketches which you can easily refer to whenever you need to get some inspiration for your next drawing. Krita supports animation functions, including audio, and comes with premade templates. Like other sketching apps, its pen-based but is especially useful for creating comic art with premade panels. ![]() It would be nice to see a few improvements (such as a select tool, and for the Android version, a smudge tool), but all in all, it's an excellent tool. Krita is free, open-source software that works for Windows, Mac, and Linux users. Teens can pin their most-used tools to their canvas and reset them easily in the settings, making pinning tools for specific projects easy. The options for tools, pens, and stamps are outstanding. ![]() The app does offer an option for pen only, which lets artists use the stylus without hand pressure registering on the screen, so teens can draw with precision. The controls are exhaustive and intuitive, and maneuvering with both fingers and a stylus offers some ease in creation. Teens familiar with the desktop version of Sketchbook Pro will pick up the tablet version with no problems, but others will require some instruction and exploration to get comfortable. The app offers tools available in the desktop version with the ease of a sketchbook on the tablet. It is an excellent, professional-caliber tool designed by Autodesk, developers with a history of well-regarded apps for designers, engineers, and architects. Anyways, in the present day CSP is my main art program while I use SAI just for doodles and making silly low-effort/bad joke doodles to send to my friends and SO from time to time.ĮDIT: Thanks to everyone who answered! It’s really nice and interesting to see different perspectives from other digital artists who use different art programs and how their “art program journey” is like.Sketchbook Pro is a serious digital art tool not to be mistaken for the many simple drawing apps available. ArtRage is the best digital painting software for old-fashioned artists who want to feel like they’ve got real tools and colors in their hands. For me SAI’s brush engine didn’t mesh well with me anymore like it used to, and over time it felt like it was limiting me more instead. Autodesk Sketchbook is a very popular software for both beginners and professionals to transform their imagination into reality. I think the main reason why I don't mainly use SAI anymore is because I felt like my drawings weren't coming out as great like my drawings in CSP. At the time I bought CSP, I still used SAI (like 50/50), but over time it slowly transitioned out from being my priority program. I solely used it for 2-3 years until I was able to snag a permanent Clip Studio Paint license from one of their 50% off sales. Its used by many comic artists to do lines before heading into photoshop for colors. When I first started digital art back in 2016, PaintTool SAI v1 was my holy grail. It lacks depth when it comes to brush settings and color corrections, but if youre into line art this is probably the best choice.

Olive oil lantern12/8/2023 ![]() Sure, smell is a big factor in flavor, but it doesn’t affect it in this case.įilippo Berio’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil is grassy, bold, and makes you cough. ![]() There is not an overwhelming olive oil smell that enters the air when you open or pour this EVOO so it came as a big surprise when we tasted this one on a piece of bread and via the traditional olive oil tasting method in the palm of our hand. Our testing process was not blind, but if it were we probably would not have guessed the price of this one. Sometimes when you go for the "budget" option you are left with something less flavorful and underwhelming. The extra virgin olive oil is also certified kosher, verified non-GMO, and carries a seal from the Olive Oil Commission of California (OOCC). There are a few sizes available, too, so you can get one that fits your needs.Īll of California Olive Ranch’s oils are certified extra virgin by a third-party lab that tests the chemical and sensory properties of the oil. Pair with herbs for a great dipping oil, drizzle on salads, or use in a delicious olive oil cake. If you only have room in your pantry for one, this should be it. The oil’s name, the "Everyday" blend, is right on par with what you can use it for. There was a tiny bit of bitterness in the back of the throat as an aftertaste, but nothing too strong. We tasted it with some fresh bread in addition to slurping it in our hand-and with both, we were met with a light, slightly grassy neutral flavor. ![]() This oil doesn’t have a strong smell, but we forgot all about that as soon as it hit our tongues. It is easy to pour and the oil is a luminous golden, slightly greenish-yellow, just as you’d expect olive oil to be. Picking it up we noticed the dark green glass bottle is thick and protective, so it shouldn’t shatter on you if dropped. It’s no wonder that after testing at home and in our lab we crowned it the best of the best. This EVOO from California Olive Ranch checks all of our boxes for what a versatile pantry staple should be: mild in flavor for ease of use, cost-effective, sturdy, and high-quality. Umbrella company expenses calculator12/8/2023 ![]() PSC calculations taken from PAYE Umbrella calculations taken from The potential effect on a contractor’s cash-flowĪnother consideration for contractors working via a PSC inside IR35, is the potential effect on their cash-flow, based on the definition of the deemed salary calculation by the fee-payer. Results based on 40 hours per week, zero expenses, to illustrate the potential take home earnings using tax code 1250L. However, contractors must remain vigilant and ensure that the umbrella is compliant, a point we will address later in this article. There are also other benefits to working via an umbrella: holiday pay, sick pay, employee rights, pension contributions, insurance protection and other perks. Many contractors find it easier because they don’t have the burden of PAYE and NIC to deal with and IR35 is not a concern for them. Working for an umbrella company means that you are an employee of the umbrella and your day rate will be affected as above – you will be taxed as an employee – but with one further deduction: the umbrella’s margin for providing its services. Many private sector contractors are already umbrella workers and it is likely that more will follow suit in April of this year. If contractors were now having to pay their company’s running expenses from their take home pay there would be little point in continuing to trade through their PSC.Īs a consequence, many contractors joined umbrella companies. ![]() Go a whole tax year on this basis and you would have no profit, no loss and certainly nothing to set your expenses off against. What this meant was that once a PSC presented its invoice, very single penny would be accounted for as either deductions (tax, NICs. However, the legislation also introduced one final piece of financial discomfort the 5% notional allowance for expenses, which was previously allowed by the IR35 deemed calculation, would be removed for any engagement deemed inside where the fee payer was responsible for making the tax deductions. ![]() like an employee, they could not claim their commute – these costs would now come out of their take home pay.
